How to improve this forum? Empty Comments on the residents forum

Post by raymondlee Fri Oct 24, 2008 11:06 am

Hi Nash,

I wish to express my appreciation to you for setting up this forum and have much benefitted the residents in expressing their view points. However, lately I notice that less and less residents access to this forum. There may be many factors contributing to this but I wish to contribute my view and suggestion as follow :

1. The membership list which monitor the residents accessing to the forum do deter some residents who may want to be discreet in accessing the forum especially during office hour.
2. The forum content spread beyond the screen and make it inconvenient for viewer to read in one glance.
3. We have too many sections and residents access to the forum are not able to focus on what is the lastest update in the forum. For those who access the forum during office hour may found that it is not appropriate to spend too much time during office hour on residents forum. Hence, having less sections can help us save time by reading the update only. Maybe, we just have two sections, say, section for residents association's notice, announcement, community activities, and business networking, section for residents' discussion and suggestion on all aspects including titles, security and environment issues.
4. The post and replies on the forum should be deleted after a time lapsed of say, one month. This will also help to reduce the repeated information and should apply to announcement and bussiness networking as well so as to encourage more new postings. Sometimes residents contributiing their ideas for the benefit of our housing area by expressing their feeling and anger at that point of time of posting due to limited information furnish, such posting leave on the forum for too long will pose embarrassment to the particular residents.
5. The feedback and comment to be complile and forward to our chairman for record and attention on a monthly basis.

I hope the above comments is useful and of help to encourage more participants.
